Practical Hygiene Self Study Workbooks

Sentient have developed a series of self study workbooks which are perfect for part time staff or where formal class room training is not feasible. The workbooks are aimed at induction training but can be used to aid basic and Level 2 refresher training. Starting with a comprehensive “General Hygiene” work book, employees move onto specific work books depending on their duties; Kitchen, Food Service or Bar and Cellar duties are all covered in separate manuals.

The Practical Hygiene Workbook Pack includes workbooks, activities, model answers, test papers, certificates and personal training records, in fact everything you would need to administer the training and guide staff through the programme.

In House Courses

The flexibility of in-house training and the ability to concentrate on topics directly relevant to your staff has many advantages. Timings are to suit your own opening or shift times and you don’t have the expense of sending staff off site. Work place examples are much easier to include.

Bespoke Food Safety Courses

This is an extension of the in-house course option, where we write or adapt food safety training courses to meet your specific needs. It may be a briefing for senior managers on legal matters, guidance on implementation of policies or simply a workshop to make sure staff understand the food hygiene or safety aspects of their job. Either way you get what you need in the way you want it.

CIEH Approved Food Safety Training

Sentient offer a number of food safety training courses all of which are approved by the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health.

Level 1 is a half day programme with a multiple choice examination at the end. It is suitable for those staff requiring induction food safety training such as new employees, those handling low risk foods, waiting-on staff or back of house staff.

Level 2 is a full day course (6 hours in total – so this could be split into 2 sessions if better for businesses). It provides food safety training for employees in a catering, manufacturing or retail environment which involves the preparation, cooking or handling of food. 

This food safety training course also has a multiple choice exam paper exam at the end

Level 3 is a three day food safety training course aimed at managers and supervisors of food manufacturing and catering businesses. It will help anyone responsible for the development of a food safety management system based on HACCP principles.

Level 4 is a 5 day food safety training programme aimed at business owners, production managers, supervisors and trainers who need a high level qualification with external accreditation. It is a prerequisite for those who wish to deliver CIEH food safety training in their organisation.

Our Food Safety Training Consultants

All our food safety training consultants are members of the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health. They have considerable experience with many of them previously being Environmental Health Officers for Local Authorities.
